Wild Goose Chase - Full Edition

Intro

Wild Goose Chase is a fast-paced word game that introduces elements of the battle royale genre with player elimination and increasing game difficulty over time.

Story

Players play as Goslings who have ran away from home and from their mother who is the Wild Goose. On their journey they will encounter different and potentially dangerous environments until they eventually make it back round to home, to do it all over again!

Gameplay

Goslings travel by coming up with a word relating to a topic. Every round, topics are drawn, and Goslings must try to come up with long words relating to the topic because the length of the word determines how far they travel. But beware having misspelt words or having the same words as other players means you do not move at all! Modifier cards change the round and alter how Goslings must approach it. Every round the Wild Goose rolls the dice and if the Wild Goose ever catches a Gosling, that player is out of the game! Be the last Gosling to have not been caught and you win the game!

Topic Cards

Topic cards provide a topic for the round. Players must come with a long answer relating to the topic within 30 seconds.
Topics come in in 3 difficulties – Easy, Medium, and Hard.
The difficulty is indicated in the Wild Goose’s expression. The Angrier it is, the harder the topic!

Modifier Cards

Modifier cards add extra fire to the game by changing the round in some way… they can have positive or negative effects. When drawn they will need to be read out loud and then another card will need to be drawn to provide a topic for the round. These cards alter the way players approach the round and make the game considerably harder the longer it goes on! Typically Modifier cards only last 1 round and then increase the longer the game goes on however there are some Permanent Modifiers in the deck too!

Game Modes

There are many ways to play the game... For example the Wild Goose can be controlled by chance with the D10 dice or to spice things up it can be controlled by a player!
